Just Some Stuff...

These are some various projects that I have been working on...Other then Christmas cards.

This card is something that I saw on a MPS blog post.  It's called a "spring card" because it "springs" up when it's taken out of the envelope.  It was really simple to make and I've been dying to use this paper by Basic Grey.  I use MPS Fabulous Phrases stamp set..."Sending you lots of love."  I'm giving it to my aunt who is recovering from surgery.

This is an ornament that I recently made.  It's for the Pink By Design ornament swap.  It's not the best, but every idea that I had kept getting jacked up or wouldn't work out.  I was trying to do a sort of snow glob effect, but it didn't quite work out.  Maybe next time...

These are some gift boxes that I made using Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge.  This was one of the first cartridges that I purchased, but hardly used it.  This first one I am giving to my sister with her birthday present in it.  She loves elephants and I bought her a handmade elephant pendant.  The other one is probably going on etsy.  :)

This box held some goodies for a friend of mine.  She watched my dog for the day and overnight.  She loved it!

I just wanted to show some of the other things that I have been working on.  I will probably have plenty more Christmas cards posted soon, but for now....EVERYONE HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING!!!

Bunch of Cards....

It's been over a month since I've posted anything!  I feel so ashamed!  Life is just a bit crazy in my world right now.  BUT...I have been busy making stuff.  I have about 60 cards that I have to have done by the end of the week.  I've got about 25 left to make.  A majority (45) of them have been Christmas cards.  The 10 have been Birthday cards and the last 5 are a mixture of "all occasions" cards.  I do a special for "buy 10 get 2 free."  So in reality I have 70 cards that I need to have done....so I guess that means that I really have 55 left to make....Oh dear!

Since I don't really have time to make a really long post or several posts about how I made each one, I figured I would just show you all the bunch that I have so far.....

All of the paper (except on the first card) is from CTMH.  Stamps are either from CTMH, Pink By Design, or My Pink Stamper.  Pretty much anything else is from CTMH.   If you have questions about any of the cards, feel free to ask!

THANK FOR LOOKIN!!!

Another BDay Card...

Hey ya'll!  I've got another lovely birthday card to share....Not much to say today.  Just been hangin' out around the house and babysitting.  The little girl I'm babysitting did the cutest thing today.  She just randomly started playing peek-a-boo and doing the hand motions all on her own.  It was SO cute!  She's talking so much more now and she's just so cute!

Anyway...here is the card....

 RECIPE:
~Paper: All paper is from CTMH.
~Ink & Markers: CTMH.
~Stamps: CTMH - Piece of Cake for cake and cupcakes; PBD - Birthday, Birthday for "Happy Birthday"
~ Gems: Walmart

Cupcake Birthday...

Hey ya'll!  I hope everyone is doing alright!  Been busy painting the house.  FINALLY!  I was able to talk the hubby into finally letting me paint.  Hehe!  I wouldn't let him hang anything on the walls and it was annoying him so he finally gave into letting me paint!  :)  Haha...I'm sneaky!

I've been trying to finish up the invites and party stuff for my friends boys birthday...but she's dragging her feet on getting me the numbers.  Granted his birthday isn't until October 19, but I have other orders I need to do as well.  I'm one of those people that needs to focus on one thing at a time.  Well...I can do more then one, but when I have big projects I like to knock one out before I move onto the next.  So since I have to wait...I decided to work on birthday cards that my mom ordered.  This is what I have done today.....

It's a farm life...

Good morning ya'll!  Hope everyone is off to a great morning.  Me?  It's good now that I've got my buddy with me.  I babysit a little girl that used to go to the day care that I no longer work for.  I fell in love with her.  I watch her in the morning so her mom can go to college.  I had a rough night and my morning didn't start off so great, but I'm happier now.  Kids seem to bring out the better in me!  :)

Speaking of....I have been working on some stuff for my friends lil boy who is turning to in October.  He's one of my lil buddies too!  She's doing a farm theme and asked me to make center pieces, goodie-bag toppers, and invites.  Check it out....

This is the front of the invite.  I thought it would be cute if she put a pic of her son behind the doors.

This is the back of the invite where all the info will go.

These are the bag toppers.  She only needed 8, so I made 2 of each.  I don't have picture of the center pieces.  However, basically it's these animals (+ a chick & barn), but bigger and they will be glued to sticks and arranged in a pail.  Kinda like flowers in a vase.  She just asked me to make the animals, bc she doesn't have this cartridge.

RECIPE
Cartridge: Create a Critter - animals & barn and Birthday Bash - "you're invited"
Cuts: Barn 4.5", Toppers: 6x4 (folded at 3") animals 2.5", Center piece: Animals 5.5"
Paper: CTMH - White, black, blush, watermelon, bubblegum, cranberry, chocolate, dessert sand  Recollections - grey
Stampin Up - whatever color that blue is (haha!).
Stamps: CTMH - It's Your Day
Ink: Cranberry

THANKS FOR LOOKING!  HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!

Fall Wreath...

Hey hey hey!  So I if you don't know of Sarah from Pink By Design, then you guys are missing out!!!  She has her own line of stamps that are AWESOME!  Check out her store by clicking the link above.  She also has her own blog ----> Pink Cricut AND a community where everyone can share projects and ideas ---> Pink By Design Community.  It's a very fun place to visit and share with others.

I've seen Sarah get into doing wreaths lately and I decided that I wanted to try and make a fall one.  I started it a couple days ago and was finally able to get to Michaels this weekend and get a glue gun and stuff to finish my project.  So I wanted to share that with you all today!

I used Simply Autumn paper pack from Recollections.  Got it at Michaels for $11.99 on sale!  I also bought my leaves from Michaels for $0.95.
I cut my strips for my flowers at 1", 1.5" and 2".
I glued my flowers to an 11.75" circle cardstock cut with my cricut.
Here is the video where I got my idea from. ----> CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO

Finally Clean...

Today I finally cleaned off my desk and my scrapbooking table!  YAY!  LoL!  So hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to start making cards again.  The house still needs a little work, but it's more organization then anything.  So be on the lookout for some projects!

I also wanted to let you all know....in case you didn't...that PINK BY DESIGN is hosting a ustream tomorrow evening and revealing new stamps!  (http://www.ustream.tv/channel/pink-by-design-stamp-release).  Friday 800-1100pm!

MPS Challenge...

I'm joining in the fun with My Pink Stamper and showcasing my style.  I'm not really sure what my style is exactly.  I like to try a lot of things and when I make something, it usually takes me a while.  I have to pick out the right papers and then figure out what looks right where.  I typically make a huge mess on my desk and it's utter chaos!  But I love it!  :)

This is a new thing I have tried...clear cards from CTMH.  They're a bit price-y, so I haven't made a bunch.  I think I've only made like 3 and those have gone to family members.

This card usues CTMH paper pack - Passages.  I believe it's a 4.25x4.25 card.  I kept it very simple, but I LOVE it!

Thanks for looking!!!

Home Owner...

We closed on the house yesterday!!  YAY!!!  I'm super excited to be a first time home owner!  Everything seemed to work out better then planned (other then getting a rental truck and movers)!!!  We paid less in closing costs then we thought we would and we found renters for the apt, so we don't have to pay a full months rent!  WOOHOO!

On a sad note, I think I slept wrong or something, bc my shoulder/neck is killing me.  It hurt so bad yesterday that I really couldn't function.  I was supposed to help the hubby get started on moving stuff, but I just had to take a sleeping pill and motrin and go to sleep.  It's a little better this morning.  I was able to pack up some more things.  Like my Cricut (booohooo) and the rest of my craft room.  :(  So I won't be able to post much, if anything, for a few more days.  At least until I can get my room set up.  Perhaps that's the first room I'll work on....then I can procrastinate on unpacking the rest of the house....*insert evil laugh*  JK!  My hubby would die if I didn't get it all done.

Anywho...just wanted to through that out there, so that you all would know what's up.  Have a good weekend!!!

The Best Things in Life...

Hey ya'll!  I just wanted to share a quick card that I just made.  I've been wanting to use this stamp an finally got the chance to do it.  It's called Seaside Sketches from SU.  This stamp (and a few more) were given to me by a friend of mine.  I don't really like rubber stamps.  I can't see what I'm doing.  I got started on the clear stamps and I'm in love with those.  However....I really like this one.  I guess it just reminds me of my sisters....and I miss them!!!

This card is being entered into the CPS Sketch Challenge for this week.

Here's what I came up with....

Recipe:
~Paper is from SU.  I don't know the name of it.  I purchased it loose from someone over a year ago.
~The ribbon is from CTMH.
~Ink is Cocoa from CTMH.
~The card is 4.25x5.5 inches.

Hope you all enjoy!

NOW I NEED TO GET TO PACKING. WE CLOSE FRIDAY!!!

Thank You So Much Card...

Hey ya'll!  So yesterday I tried this new technique with embossing.  I used embossing powder to get the rustic shiny look on my card and then embossed it with my cuttlebug.....it's like double embossing.  Blows your mind, doesn't it?  Haha!  I got this technique from Paula at More Than Favors.  She posted it on the Pink By Design message board.  If you are not a part of that community, you should go check it out ----> HERE.  It's a lot of fun and there is typically a lot going on.  You can post your own projects and chat with others in the craft world.  Everybody feeds off each other and it's awesome!

My design comes from the Peachy Keen Stamp Sketch Challenge.  I liked this sketch, bc it was simple and I still managed to make something I love!

Here's what I did.....

I cut out my pieces for the card first.  I made sure I had all my sizes the way that I wanted them.  I then took the front piece of card stock and embossed it with Copper embossting powder.  Then I ran it through the Cuttlebug with the Distressed Stripes folder.  When I did this, you could hear it crack, but apparently that is normal.  Then I went over it with a sander and it started to tear.  at first it irritated me, but then I realized that I could put it together on the card and it just added even more character to the card.  I loved it!

Everything on this card is from CTMH except the embossing powder, ribbon and the Cuttlebug folder.  The paper pack I used is called Passages.  The stamp is from a set called Thank You.  The ink color is Barn Red.

This is a great technique if you don't already have metalic papers (and I don't)!  It was fun and simple to do.  I hope you all try it!  Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Band-Aid Anyone...

Hey ya'll!  I have something different to show you today.  I can't remember where I saw this done...so sorry to whoever did it...but someone had taken an old icing container and turned it into a paperclip container.  It was so cute!  I wanted to try something similar and it took me "forever" to come up with this.....
A BAND-AID CONTAINER!!!

How fun is that? My hubby had random brands stuffed into one box and then I had a separate box somewhere....so I just combined them all into this cute container.

RECIPE:
1. Pick out your paper. (this part took me a while)

2. Measure around the cup. (about 10.5 inches)

3. Cut the paper for the cup.
-The dark teal piece is cut at 10.5x3.25 inches.
-The pattern paper is cut at 10.5x2 inches.

4. Secure paper to cup. (i used my ATG tape gun)

5. Decorate!
-I used font from Birthday Cakes cartridge - cut at 1.5" in height using my Gypsy.  I layerd the letters with brown paper and green cardstock.  I ran the green letters through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder.
-I cut out bandaids using the Everyday Pop-Up Cards cartridge.  I cut 2 bandaids at 1.5 inches and 1 at 2 inches (this one went on the top).

6. The lid...You can choose to leave this as is, or you can decorate it.  The blue didn't match and it was bothering me.  So I chose to decorate it.  I couldn't get the tape to stick to the lid very well, so I had to use a combo of glue and tape.  I glued the lid down to the paper and cut around it for the larger circle.  I was having issues with measurements and didn't want to waste paper.  Then I cut a 5" circle out of pattern paper and another dark teal one at 2".  Then secured the large bandaid to the lid with 3D tape.  I also took ribbon and glued it around the rim of the lid.

I know that's a lot of info, but it was fun for me to make!  Hope you enjoy!
